They're not dissing it. They say repeatedly how incredilble it is, and how amazing they find it that the piece was created nearly fifty years ago and still feels contemporary. Art appreciation isn't all "oooh, how amazing and perfect and completely impeccable this work is. I revere the artist as an artist." Art appreciation is about what a work inspires in you, what it makes you feel. I love that they are not passively remarking on how cool it is that the "cake" is big.
