The history of this region comprises an incredible diversity of people, languages, religious beliefs, architecture, and art. Still, many aspects of their art and cultures have similarities. Some of the shared cultural traits among Mesoamerican peoples included a complex pantheon of deities, architectural features, a ballgame, the 260-day calendar, trade, food, dress, and accoutrements (such as earspools).
