Dr. Annelise Madsen, The Art Institute of Chicago

Annelise K. Madsen is Gilda and Henry Buchbinder Assistant Curator of American Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. She specializes in U.S. painting, sculpture, and visual culture of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, including recent projects on 1930s modernism, Gilded Age and Progressive Era civic art, and John Singer Sargent. Madsen holds a PhD in art history from Stanford University.
