Dr. Julie Codell
Julie Codell is professor of Art History at Arizona State University. She received her B.A. in English from Vassar College, her M.A. in Art History from Indiana University, and her Ph.D. in Comparative Arts from Indiana University. Her areas of specialization are 19th-century visual culture in the UK and the US, the art press, Indian culture under the British Raj, life writings (autobiographies and biographies), travel narratives, representations of race and gender, material culture, the art market, the history of collecting, and world film.
