Dr. Virginia Heckert
Dr. Virginia Heckert is a curator in the Department of Photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Art History from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her Ph.D. from Columbia University, New York. She specializes in German photography between the two World Wars and contemporary photography that privileges objectivity and materiality.
