Sabena Kull
Sabena Kull is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History at the University of Delaware and the 2017-2018 Mayer Fellow for Spanish Colonial Art at the Denver Art Museum. She specializes in the art and material culture of the early modern Spanish world. As the Mayer Fellow at the DAM, Sabena conducts research for the New World department, examining paintings and embroidered samplers from the museum’s collection of colonial Latin American art, and continues work on her dissertation, which investigates women’s art production in seventeenth-century Lima, Peru, and Seville, Spain. Before beginning her doctoral studies in 2015, Sabena earned an M.A. in Art History from the University of Denver and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Montana.
