Cuzco School of Painting

The Cuzco School developed a unique artistic style, the result of Peruvian painters of various ethnic origins active in Cuzco from the 16th to the 19th centuries. It is characterized by a bright color palette, flattened forms, Indigenous symbolism, and a profusion of gold ornament.
