Kingdom of Benin
The historical kingdom of Benin, which at its height ranged from the Niger River delta in the east to Lagos in the west. Style and culture of the people of southern Nigeria noted for their production of fine bronzes and carved ivories, particularly of the inhabitants who predated the modern nation of Bénin. For the style and culture of the modern nation, use "Beninese."
