Pop Art
In reaction to the high-minded nature of postwar abstract art, Pop embraced low culture by focusing on increasing pervasive visual consumer branding in Britain, the US ,and other countries. Pop art traded postwar existential angst for Dada infused wit and irony better suited to the prosperous but alienated Coldwar era.
