Dr. Samuel Mareel is Senior Curator of 15th- and 16th-Century Art at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. He received his Ph.D. in Dutch literature from Ghent University. He specializes in the visual arts and literature of the Burgundian and early Habsburg Netherlands.
