About Dr. Kurt Behrendt, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Kurt Behrendt is associate curator of South Asian art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He received his B.A. in Art History and Geology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Indian Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research focuses on 6th- through 9th-century Buddhist art and archaeology on the Indian subcontinent.
