Dr. Maya Harakawa
Dr. Maya Harakawa is Assistant Professor of Black and Latinx Diasporas in the Department of Art History at the University of Toronto. At U of T, she is also a Faculty Affiliate at the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from The Graduate Center, CUNY. Her research interests include art and visual culture of the 20th century, particularly after 1945; Black art and Black artists; and the relationship between art and politics.
