Dr. Lara Kuykendall is Associate Professor of Art History at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She holds a Ph.D. in American art from the University of Kansas and her research examines ways in which American artists of the 1930s and 1940s used heroic imagery to understand and critique the changing social and political fabric of the United States.
