Dr. Jennifer Awes Freeman

Dr. Jennifer Awes Freeman received her M.A.R. from Yale Divinity School and her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University where she studied the relationship between art and theology in the Carolingian era. She is the Assistant Professor and Program Director of Theology and the Arts at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and also teaches medieval art as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. She has two books forthcoming in 2021: The Ashburnham Pentateuch: The Iconography of the Trinity in Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages (Boydell & Brewer) and The Good Shepherd: Image, Meaning, and Power (Baylor University Press).
